Driving Sunglasses

Driving Sunglasses are a wonderful invention, making it ever safer to be behind the wheel of a car in all weather conditions. The secret to the driving sunglasses is what is known as Polarisation. Polarisation blocks horizontal light waves meaning that when you receive a glare reflected from tarmac, water, or shiny surfaces such as cars, this will not be shone directly into the driver’s eyes. This light reflection without driving sunglasses can be incredibly dangerous as even slight squinting can put yourself and other motorists in danger.
Not only are such sunglasses practical and keep you safe but also and most importantly to some; will make you look superb and at the height of fashion.
A friend of mine swears by the brand of Serengeti which are driving specialists. He tells me that these are the ultimate driving sunglasses when it comes to appearance and protection. Serengeti cover everything they produce to the smallest detail.
There are three different types of lenses which will provide the following qualities...
Photochromic- These adapt to a change in light conditions, wherever you are it is important not to stress your eyes and that way you can enjoy the sights around you with much more clarity of vision and light.
Polarised- Exactly the same as I have described above but they also block all UVB and UVA rays which keeps them incredibly safe.
Spectral Control- This gives you crystal clear vision by enhancing definition and contrast in any weather conditions plus also blocks out 95% of harmful blue light.
Serengeti are by far the preferred driving sunglasses as I research further these seem to have the best reviews. They seem to be the most fashionable on the market but they also seem to heed great reviews when it comes to comfort as well.
You can buy these driving sunglasses in any style but my favourites will always be the aviator style like Tom Cruise in Cocktail. These have never seemed to have gone out of fashion and are absolutely timeless.
I love seeing people wearing sunglasses and I find wearing them makes me feel a little more stylish. I am always losing my sunglasses but my favourites by far are the ones I bought just 6 weeks ago. They are brown and in the aviator style as well as being great driving glasses they also look very sexy. I actually spent a lot of money on these and made sure I always picked them up from restaurant tables and from the beach without fail. I currently live in Bali and as you will probably know there is an awful lot of sun here and glasses are an absolute must. My boyfriend recently flew out here to meet me for a holiday and we set off to Kuta Beach which is world renowned for its huge surf. Now as I was worried about the salt water eroding the film on my driving sunglasses as I was having the waves crash into my face I decided that as my boyfriend was far taller than I that I would pass him my glasses to keep on his head. Now my boyfriend is a lover of Raybans and had already thought to take his off so there was plenty of room for him to pop mine on. After me passing them I happened to mention quickly that they were much more expensive than his brand. What is it about men not listening to a single word a woman says? No sooner had I closed my mouth when he just dived into the next wave with my sunglasses still on his head! He popped up looking mortified! This is the kind of surf that would make it virtually impossible to find anything once it had sunk. I was really annoyed as I knew I wouldn’t be able to replace them and it takes an awful lot of trying on for me to eventually find sunglasses to both fit comfortably and suit me. As he fished around looking worried and perplexed I was constantly reassuring him that it didn’t matter and that there were far worse things that could happen. Amazingly after saying that he would never give up he actually scooped them up from the surf and there they were; my driving sunglasses! I was so happy! Needless to say I never let them out of my sight and they are sitting with me now as I type.
I do tend to find the sun in England harder to drive in as it’s always so low in the sky which really makes it quite blinding sometimes. At least in Bali it’s always incredibly high in the sky and we do have a rainy season which helps to give us the occasional cloudy day. I really couldn’t drive though without my driving sunglasses.
